Lorcet Plus Generic Name: Hydrocodone
WHEN YOU SHOULD NOT USE LORCET PLUS
You should not use Lorcet Plus if you have ever had an allergic reaction to acetaminophen or to hydrocodone.
HOW TO USE AND STORE LORCET PLUS
Your doctor will tell you how much Lorcet Plus to take and how often. Keep Lorcet
Plus out of the reach of children.
Lorcet Plus Tablets/Capsules:
Lorcet Plus may be taken with food to lessen stomach upset.
Drink plenty of fluids to help avoid constipation.
Store Lorcet Plus at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
Solution (liquid):
May be taken with food to lessen stomach upset.
Carefully measure your dose using a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup.
Do not freeze. Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
If you miss a Lorcet Plus dose:
Take the missed dose of Lorcet Plus as soon as possible.
Skip the missed Lorcet Plus dose if it is almost time for your next
dose of Lorcet Plus.
You should not use two Lorcet Plus doses at the same time.
DRUGS AND FOODS TO AVOID
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
Do not drink alcohol with Lorcet Plus.
Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking any other medicines that could make you drowsy such as sedatives, cold and allergy medicine, sleeping pills, or muscle relaxants.
LORCET PLUS WARNINGS
Lorcet Plus can be habit-forming. You should not use more than the prescribed
amount of Lorcet Plus. Check with your doctor before taking Lorcet
Plus if you have liver or kidney disease, an enlarged prostate gland, or trouble urinating.
Tell your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to a narcotic drug such as codeine. The reaction may have included wheezing or trouble breathing, hives, rash, or swelling in the face. Codeine can cause an upset stomach, but an upset stomach is not an allergic reaction. If you have taken Lorcet
Plus for several weeks, ask your doctor before stopping Lorcet
Plus as you may need to take smaller and smaller amounts
of Lorcet Plus before stopping completely.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking Lorcet
Plus.
Lortab® liquid contains alcohol.
Lorcet Plus can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Be careful if driving a car or using machinery.
LORCET PLUS SIDE EFFECTS
Call your doctor right away if you have any of these side effects:
Fast or slow heartbeat
Trouble breathing
Swelling of the face
Hives, skin rash, itching
Hallucinations, changes in behavior
Severe confusion or tiredness
Yellowing of the skin or eyes
If you have problems with these less serious Lorcet
Plus side effects, tell your doctor.
Drowsiness, dizziness, or weakness
Dry mouth, nausea or vomiting
Constipation
Headache
Blurred vision
